ROLL UP YOUR SLEEVES AND GET TO WORK!

There are a number of places in LaGrange and Troup County where you can serve. Here are a few options where you can help out at First Presbyterian:

  • Wednesday morning DeCelle Ministry — Offers coaching in fiscal and social responsibility and advocates for community members in need.

  • Thursday Lunch Program — Provides Meals on Wheels for residents of Troup County and offers walk-up/dine-in services at 11:30 am. We feed over 200 people each week!

  • Berta Weathersbee Elementary School Partnership — Mentor and teach students at local Troup County elementary school.

  • Camp Viola — Serves students in Troup County with camp programming during the summer

  • Blood Drives — FPC hosts numerous blood drives with the American Red Cross each year and we’re always looking for volunteers!

  • Mobile Market — We partner with Wellstar Health System to participate in a series of mobile food markets to communities in need. Through the mobile markets, Goodr and Wellstar provide fresh produce, meat, shelf stable items, milk, and other beverages.

  • Mission Days — We host a number of mission days throughout the year placing Presbyterians in agencies throughout the community doing whatever needs to be done!

For more information on these and other opportunities to serve, contact Pastor James Goodlet.

serve on a committee

Yes, we’re serious. We know this may not sound exciting, but it’s oh so important. It’s how we get things done in the Presbyterian church; it’s how we hear everyone’s voices. At FPC, we have a number of committees where we’d love your help, including:

  • Formation (Nursery, Children, Youth, College, Adult, Community Groups)

  • Finance and Generosity

  • House and Grounds

  • Personnel

  • Worship (Sanctuary Prep, Worship Arts)

  • Mission

  • Hospitality

  • Social

  • Montessori or Childcare Boards
